Selecting the Perfect Scrapbooking Sticker

There isn’t one perfect scrapbooking sticker; in fact, the reason scrapbooking is so fun is that it’s entirely individual, based on personal preferences and styles. Craft stores sell hundreds of different stickers varieties. Ask the salesclerk to point to the scrapbooking sticker section and you are likely to be shown three or four aisles from which to choose.

Scrapbooking Sticker Collection

Different crafters collect and select their materials in advance, and they tend to be very picky about details. For instance, several different companies include different alphabets in their selection of sticker collections, and other companies make miniature items, such as tiny watercolor pallets or slot machines for their arts and crafts or hobby scrapbooking sticker needs.

Scrapbooking Sticker Prices

Like any other hobby, prices for scrapbooking accessories vary from store to store and company to company. There are companies that sell equipment and supplies through home parties, which drives the price of an individual scrapbook quite high. Ideally, the most expensive costs in a scrapbook should be related to developing the pictures. Otherwise, scrapbooking sticker prices can start below a dollar and go as high as five dollars or more.

Buy Clearance or Bulk

On any given day, arts and crafts stores hold clearance sales; many are advertised in weekly circulars, and a good idea, especially for avid scrapbookers, is to watch for scrapbooking sticker clearance sales and purchase – in bulk. If you normally pay $1 per sticker packet and the packet is now 50¢, by all means, purchase several, even if you don’t need them right away. However, if the normal sticker price is $5, but it is now $2.50 per packet, that’s not really a clearance sale to you. If you anticipate needing or using them in the future, buy a few, but don’t waste money on future intent, because chances are when you go to use them, you’ll want something else anyway.

Sticker Crazy

When creating your pages and determining where to put a scrapbooking sticker, consider putting some on the page and others on the outside of the plastic sleeve. Not only does this help keep the pages neat and tidy, it can sometimes create a 3-D effect. It is important to note, however, that placing the stickers on the plastic sleeve does not guarantee they will be easy to remove or move; it may be necessary to run an exact-o knife under the sticker and carefully lift it off the page.
